Mark 9:23  “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” (NIV)

Boxes are good and convenient.  We use them to sort like items, store items, mail items and so on.  Unfortunately, we also use boxes for people.  We put other people in a box.  We decide the will always act a certain way, the can only do certain things and many other judgements.  We also put ourselves in a box.  We decide we can only do certain things, think certain ways and limit our potential.

One reason we put others and ourselves in boxes is because we put God in a box.  We limit God by our own experiences.  We limit God by our own fears and desires.  We limit God with our impatience.

Jesus said “everything is possible for one who believes.”  We have a choice.  We can take Him at His word and believe what He said or we can choose to limit what He said even though He said “everything” not some things.  This “everything” applies to God, to us and even to all the others we have put into boxes.

Let us choose to keep an open mind to others, to ourselves and to God in what each of us can think and do.  We’ll find an amazing world opening up to us.
