Seeking God

Filed under: Uncategorized — by ginrich @ 2:58 pm

Psalms 27:4 4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,

To seek something means to go after with all your effort, to keep after until you find it.  When we misplace our keys, we seek after them until we find them.  When we forget our cell phone at home we turn the car around to retrieve it.  The question is do we really seek after our Lord?  When we know we have a very busy day ahead, are we willing to get up a little early and have time with Him to become aware of His presence with us throughout the day?  We must be honest with ourselves.  Do we really put God first and foremost above everything else?  Maybe sometimes, but are we consistent in our seeking and putting Him first?  There are so many distractions in this world, even in our homes.  The only way to win the battle over the distractions is to ask God for His help.  He says He will give us what we ask.  But we must really want it.  God knows what’s in our hearts.  He knows our desires.  Let’s ask His Holy Spirit to fill us with a real desire and thirst after intimacy with God and the desire to seek it above all else.
