Be Specific

Psalms 32:8 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. (NIV)

They lost the only care key they had.  They searched high and low.  Stress and panic were building.  I came to look with them.  I asked if they had asked God where it was.  She said she asked Him to help her find it.  We kept looking.  She asked Him for help but wasn’t specific in asking Him where it was.  She did keep sensing to look in the garbage but she didn’t want to go through household garbage.  Finally, no place was left to look and she went through the household garbage.  There, in the bottom of the can was the key.  It is that way with our lives.  We get in trouble and ask God to bail us out but we quite often don’t want to go the way He tells us.  We try all sorts of other ways.  We think we know best where to go when and what to do when.  We end up taking a lot of rabbit trails.  If we would just learn to pray in specifics and listen and go immediately to what we sense God is telling us we would save ourselves so very much stress and time.  We are a stubborn lot.
