Proverbs 16:3 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (NIV)

So many people misinterpret this proverb.  They think they can make their own plans and then ask God to bless them.  What this proverb says is listen to the establish plans He has made for us, then commit to do them in His timing and His way.  My husband always wanted a flow chart.  He wanted to see all the steps between point A and point Z.  It took him awhile to learn God wants us to trust Him to the point that we can place the heal of our foot down before we know which direction the toe of our foot will point.  If our ears are tuned to His quiet voice within us we will always hear, “This is the way, walk in it.”  I find it easier because I don’t enjoy the planning stage of anything.   This doesn’t mean we should never plan.  Our plans should always be open for review and adjustment.  We can and should make plans but only as we listen to God and, when we find they need adjustment or changing, be very flexible and adjust or change as needed to always be in His perfect will and timing.  It is only by the grace of God that we draw our next breath.  Let us rejoice that He, Who knows the future, will always lead us on the right path.
