Luke 1:38 38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. (NIV)

As we proceed through the Advent season let’s take time to think on each one in what we call the Christmas Story.  We’ll start with Mary.  In our day and time, she would be a teen-ager in high school.  Imagine what she felt hearing that, not married (only engaged), and being a virgin, she was to become pregnant.  Most girls her age would be full of fear.  What would everyone think.  In her day she would be stoned to death for being pregnant without already being married.  How would anyone believe she was still a virgin.  Then we look at her response.  What faith she had.  What willingness to submit to the will of God regardless of how it may affect her.  Then we must consider things God tells us to do.  What is our response?  Let’s take time to ask God to reveal to us the times we have turned away from what He asks of us through His written Word and sometimes by the quiet nudging of His Holy Spirit.  Let us repent and become as willing as Mary.
