Elizabeth

Luke 1:41 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. (NIV)

Mary went to see her cousin Elizabeth.  I imagine Mary was still feeling a little confused, insecure and fearful.  When Elizabeth heard Mary she was filled with the Holy Spirit.  Before the resurrection and then the Pentecost ( the releasing of God’s Holy Spirit), the Holy Spirit only came on certain people at certain times for a specific purpose.  This time it was to confirm to Mary all the angel had said to her.  Not only did God use Elizabeth to prepare Mary for the birth of Jesus, He used her son, John, as the voice in the wilderness preparing the way for Mary’s child, Jesus.  God uses many people, coordinating them, for His purpose.  We are all like a choir or orchestra.  No one part is more or less important than another.  All parts must blend and flow together for a singular purpose.  No ministry is more important than another.  All ministries, all gifts and each and every one of God’s children must blend and flow together for the sole purpose of glorifying God while on this earth.  Let’s encourage one another to do our parts in the “orchestra or choir” of God’s family and shine forth His praises and love to the world around us.
