Stable Owner

Luke 2:7 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. (NIV)

Imagine the stress on Joseph as he sought a room for Mary.  The city was overcrowded and no rooms were available.  But someone had mercy for their situation.  Someone owned the stable.  It was not like todays barns.  It was just a shelter for the horses and donkeys that the people used for transportation.  But whoever owned this table cleared a place for Joseph and Mary to have shelter.  This person had no idea that what he did would be the birthplace of the Son of God.  God uses us many times without our knowledge of what is actually taking place.  It might be just a smile we give someone who needs to see a smile and a friendly face to keep from harming themself.  It could be just as simple as giving a lonely person a call or visit.  We need to keep ourselves available for God to use us in ways we see as small.  We tend to want to be used in big way thinking that’s what is important.  What the owner of the stable did was very important.  Just as in an orchestra or choir it takes every member to make beautiful music, it takes each and every believer using the gifts God gives in their own unique way to let God’s glory shine on this earth.  Let’s keep His light shining through us in any way He chooses.
