Matthew 4:6 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” (NIV)

In this temptation, Jesus was being asked to justify His existence.  Jesus didn’t need to prove Who He is.  God the Father had already declared Him to be His Son.  God had already declared His love. (More on this after we finish with the temptations.) Jesus had total confidence in His relationship with the Father. Our question is do we feel confident in who we are in Christ Jesus?  If not, we are not into the scripture enough.  Immersing ourselves in the recorded words of God in the Holy Bible will increase our confidence.  In it we read we were created for fellowship with the Father.  When we come to Him through Jesus, His Son, we become joint heirs with Jesus.  Joint heirs means all that Jesus has we also have.  We don’t need to test God.  He has spoken.  He never lies.  We can choose to believe and trust. God’s love for us is unshakeable. He proved it by sending Jesus down, letting Him go the cross for our sin and giving Him life again so we may live.
