Matthew 5:48 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect (NIV)

Another translation for the word perfect come from is purpose.  We are to live our life for a purpose.  Our purpose should prevail in all parts of our life.  Our purpose is to fellowship with God and through that fellowship shine His love and demonstrate His love to those around us.  Being perfect, or singleness of purpose, doesn’t mean we won’t sin.  It means our eyes and minds and hearts are focused on God and our purpose.  It means when we slip up we immediately confess and move on following our purpose with God.  Our question is, do we desire to follow our purpose?  Let’s take some time checking the different areas of our lives and seeing when we are following our purpose or when our minds and hearts are elsewhere.
