Matthew 6:11 11 Give us today our daily bread. (NIV)

Give us.  We must remember all we have is a gift from God.  That includes the air we breathe.  It is only because of the grace of God we can take our next breath.  We are asking Him for “daily” bread.  We are asking for the day.  He has told us not to worry about tomorrow and to leave the past behind.  It is for this day that we are to pray and it is for this day that He provides.  “Bread.”  This is more than the physical food we need to eat to nourish our fleshly bodies.  Jesus said He is the “Bread of Life.”  We are to eat from Him each and every day.  We do this through His written word, The Holy Bible, and through His Holy Spirit by listening and responding to His voice.  We are asking God to Give us the ability to hear, receive and consume Him and all He has for us on this day.  We must ask ourselves do we know what we are asking and do we want to do our part in the receiving of our request?
