Narrow Gate

Matthew 7:13-14 13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (NIV)

So many people think they can approach God and go to heaven by being good.  They think there are many different roads to the same place.  They are partly right.  There are many different roads to eternal hell but there is only one road to heaven.  That road must go through the cross of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, Who was and is the Word through Whom God created all that is or will ever be.  People think because God is love that He will welcome all good people into His home in heaven.  God is love.  Because He loves us, He did provide a way into His home in heaven.  He sent His Word, His Son, Jesus Christ, to take our place and die for the penalty of our sins so we can become righteous through the righteousness of Jesus and be able to stand in the presence of God.  Sin cannot stand before God for God is without sin.   This is the purest form of love.  A love that wants the best for us in our lives on this earth and throughout eternity in His home.  All are invited to walk through that one gate.  Unfortunately, not all will want to walk that gate.  It is up to us to help as many as possible find this one gate and help them enter and be with God throughout eternity.  Our question is, are we living up to our responsibility?
