Reach Out

Matthew 8:2-3 2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” (NIV)

Jesus is still willing.  Not only to heal our physical ailments but to clean us from sin.  All we need do is ask Him.  But when we ask, we must be willing to receive.  He also wants to heal others through our touch.  He is not physically on this earth and has given us His Holy Spirit and the power within for us to reach our hands out and touch others.  Our touch is to connect them with His Spirit and bring healing, both physical, emotional and spiritual.  Our question must be are we reaching out to others?  What are we communicating to them with our touch?  Jesus communicated love and wholeness.  Let us go and do likewise

Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock (NIV)

Do we hear the words of Jesus as we read the Bible?  When we read, do we read to really hear and understand and let the words really sink into our mind and heart?  Are we as eager to hear His words as we are when we first realize we are in love with someone?  If so, are we putting those words we are hearing into practice?  Practice means to keep going over and over until it becomes natural.  When I first started piano lessons I had to learn my scales.  I had to play them over and over until I could play them without even thinking about them.  Have we made the words spoken by Jesus so much a part of ourselves that we can and do follow them as a natural part of who we are?  This is our goal.  This should be our hearts desire.  Jesus prayed for us to become one in Him as He is One with the Father.  I pray you want this as much as I do.  Help us Holy Spirit to desire, to hear, to practice and to become One.
