No Fear

Matthew 10:31-32 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (NIV)

As the return of Jesus gets closer and the evil in this world gets more rampant, fear raises its ugly head.  Many are afraid of the loss of freedom, the economy, the lack of morals and on and on.  But fear means we don’t trust and believe what Jesus said.  He said there is no need to fear for those who believe in Him as their Lord and Savior for He will take care of us.  Either we trust Him and live with peace in our hearts and minds or we don’t and live in fear.  It is a choice.  Feelings come after our choice.

I must comment on today being the first day of the Lent season.  A time of preparation for the remembering of the crucifixion of our Lord before celebrating His resurrection.  I’ve written Lenten series before so I will just summarize.  When we give up something it is important to put something in its place.  What we give up should be something that interferes with our relationship with God.  No matter how mature we are in faith, none of us is perfect.  We must ask God what He wants us to do during this time that will bring us into a more intimate relationship with Him.
