Matthew 12:43-45 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” (NIV)

When we’ve confessed our sins we must be sure we ask the Holy Spirit to fill us anew.  As we live in this sinful world and see all the temptations around us, we become accustomed to these temptations.  Eventually we begin to accept them as not so bad and eventually participate in them.  This is happening more and more in our world.  What was considered evil is now taken as good.  This is how generations become wicked.  We must immerse in the written word of God and keep His precepts in our minds and hearts.  We, as believers and followers of Jesus are no longer of this world.  Let us keep His word in our minds and hearts and not give into the idea that God’s precepts no longer belong in this modern age.  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Pray Holy Spirit, keep us full of You so there is no room for the evil one.
