Matthew 12:50 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” (NIV)

Not only are all believers part of God’s family, we are all part of each other’s family.  Families do things together, both working and playing.  Families look out for each other.  Families want only the best for each other.  Families share equally; not only in the responsibilities but in the pleasures.  We must ask ourselves how we treat other believers.  In many churches there are feelings of competition.  Some think they own a certain seat or should have a certain job regardless of how the Spirit is moving.  We are so often stuck with the words “my or mine.”  What we need to be doing is the will of God.  He said we are to love one another.  He said we are to be giving more than getting.  He said we are only to speak of the good.  He said we are to pray for one another not to gossip.  So often our prayer requests resemble gossip more than pure prayer.  Families are forgiving.  We must make sure we don’t harbor resentment against any believer.  The older of us are to be mothers or fathers of the younger believers and encourage them through teaching and through example.  We must ask what kind of example are we setting for the younger believers?
