Matthew 13:29 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. (NIV)

I really enjoy the parables Jesus gave.  Understanding is easier when combined with pictures.  This one is the parable of the weeds.  When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior He doesn’t remove us from the culture or society where we live.  He expects us to grow in Him in the midst of where we are.  We are to remain where we are and be His light in the midst of the darkness.  If all we do is stay in church or with the people in our churches, we have no Impact on the world around us.  A healthy plant survives in the midst of the weeds and is not coked out.  We must ask ourselves if we are being choked out or are we being the Light of God in the midst of our dark and weed infested garden of life.
