Hunting Treasure

Matthew 13:44 44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. (NIV)

The kingdom of heaven is described as a hidden treasure.  But God has provided us a generous taste of that treasure in the written word, the Holy Bible.  It is full of treasures which can be gleaned each and every day.  These treasures are hidden from those who don’t know Jesus and are without the gift of His Holy Spirit.  It is only as the Holy Spirit reveals what is hidden in the treasure that understand can come.  It is wonderful we don’t have to wait until that day we leave this earth for our home in heaven to have that treasure.   Our question is do we really value the treasure available to us enough to seek it with all our heart and mind.  The man in the parable sold all he had for that treasure.  Jesus gave His life for us to have the treasure.  All we need do is believe Him and seek Him through His written word with the Holy Spirit to have joy abundantly.
