Money Changers

Matthew 21:13 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” (NIV)

Granted we don’t have money changer tables in our churches any more but there are a lot of things that go on in our churches that would probably upset Jesus if He were to walk into them physically now.  Many have become big social clubs.  It’s fine to have things of fellowship and good activities for the church members but we must remember our primary reason for a church is to worship God, feed the sheep and equip the sheep to go outside of the church into the community and make disciples.  When we are in the church with other believers we are to encourage each other to go out the doors of the church and get to work in the community.  I’ve written about this before.  It is imperative that we be salt and pour ourselves out of the salt shaker.  We can do this as a group and we can do this as individuals.  We must ask ourselves what we are doing to bring new disciples into the kingdom of God.  Where are our neighbors in relation to Jesus?  Where are our business associates in relationship to Jesus.  Do they know where we are?  Are we being salt and light?
