Matthew 28:19-20 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)

Let’s look closer at what we now call the great commission which Jesus gave before He ascended to heaven.  The first verb is “go.”  Go is an action word.  We are not to stay in our churches.  The lost don’t come to church.  Church is for feeding and encouraging the believers.  We are to eat from God’s Word at church then to go out.  When we go out we are to make disciples.  This is more than making converts.  We must continue to nurture and feed the new believers that they, too, will be able to go out.  We are to teach them all that Jesus said and encourage them to obey.  Jesus ends with the promise He is and will always be with us as we go.  Are we going?  Are we making disciples.  This is for the believers, not left to those who are paid pastors of churches.  Let us go.
