Know Him

Acts 2:14 14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. (NIV)

Remember Peter.  He was the one who claimed vehemently didn’t even know Jesus.  He spent 3 years with Him, eating, laughing, learning and traveling seeing miracles.  Then he cowers and denies Him.  What changed.  After the crucifixion, he hid with the other disciples.  After the resurrection, he stayed hidden.  Now he is standing in front of a crowd of people telling them about Jesus.  What a change.  From a coward denying to a bold witness.  The difference is Peter is no longer alone.  He is filled with the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit give us knowledge, wisdom and boldness when we are open to receive those gifts.  All believers have the Holy Spirit.  Our problem is we don’t avail of His power in and through us.  There are Christians in countries who are being persecuted and threatened with death who are standing firm and bold because they know the Holy Spirit within them.  Jesus came not only to die and take our sins on Himself, He came for us to intimately know and fellowship with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  We must know and welcome the Holy Spirit and live and stand with boldness.  Since you’re reading this you have a computer.  Open your Bible software and do a search on the Holy Spirit.  Read all the references and get personally acquainted with Him.  Then go and make disciples.
