All Who Are Far Off

Acts 2:39 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” (NIV)

Just in case you’re still not very sure all Christians, including you, have the Holy Spirit within them, here is yet another verse of promise.  We are definitely far off in generations from the first disciples of Jesus.  If we are believers and followers of Jesus we are because He has called us to follow Him.  We are each called are different times of our lives and in different ways, but we are all called and we are all filled.  The original word for filled in relation to the Holy Spirit is of the continuing verb form.  The continuing verb form is a word of continuing action.  Being filled with God’s Holy Spirit is a continuing thing.  We pray each and every morning for a fresh refilling of the Holy Spirit.  We were baptized and received the Holy Spirit when we accepted Jesus into our hearts, minds and lives but we are continuing being filled.  The only limit of the refreshing or refilling of the Holy Spirit is the limit we set.  Let us be sure to be totally open each and every day for all of the Holy Spirit’s filling in us.  Then we have the power and boldness to go out into the world and make those disciples.
