Seed Growth

Acts 3:16 16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see. (NIV)

In and of ourselves we have no faith.  We, as sinful humans, are full of doubt.  Faith in God can only come through Jesus.  It is Jesus Who fills us with His Holy Spirit to give us faith.  When we pray the name, Jesus, we are praying in the faith He gives us.  He gives us the faith of a tiny mustard seed.  When the seed is planted, it grows into a tree.  When Jesus plants the seed of faith in us, He expects us to nourish it so it will grow.  It is for us to nourish the seed of faith.  We nourish it in a combination of several ways: Bible study, meditation, prayer, gathering with others of faith, speaking of all God does for us and witnessing and making disciples.  Just like our bodies need a balanced diet to grow and be healthy, faith needs a balanced diet to grow.  Let us work on growing the seed of faith planted in us by Jesus and His Holy Spirit.
