Acts 4:32 32 All the believers were one in heart and mind (NIV)

I am distressed over denominationalism.  It is a bad witness.  They seem to be in competition with each other.  And within the denominations the individual churches seem to be in competition with each other.  But this attitude isn’t new.  It happened in the early church.  The church in Ephesus was different from the church in Rome and the church in Corinth.  This is because the churches are made up of sinful humans.  We make up for our feeling of being inferior by criticizing others.  This started with Adam and Eve point the finger elsewhere for their disobedience.  We now have the Holy Spirit.  We should be able to allow the Holy Spirit to love all others through us. We agree Jesus is the Son of God, came to earth to show us the love of the Father, died on the cross to take our sins on Himself and rose from the dead to give us eternal life.  Beyond this, it doesn’t matter how we choose to worship or show His love.  What counts is we do worship and we do show His love to all others.  Let us learn to avail ourselves to the power of that love and put judgement and criticism aside.
