Isaiah 40:31 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)

There are many different Greek words which are translated in English as “wait.”  In this verse, the Greek word which is translated as “wait” actually means “to be entwined.”  When string is entwined to make a strong cord it is braided or wrapped around several strands in order to become stronger.  We are to be entwined or wrapped up in God in order to be string and to soar and not be weary or faint.  How do we become entwined in the Lord?  We read, study and meditate on His written word, putting it deep in our minds and hearts.  We practice what we read in His written word.  We communicate regularly with God being sure to spend more time listening than talking.  Jesus prayed for us to become one with God as He is One in God and to be one with other believers.  Let us work toward our oneness in God through obedience and with one another by putting our petty differences aside and worshiping and walking with God through His Holy Spirit.
