Numbers 11:15 15 If you will treat me like this, kill me at once, if I find favor in your sight, that I may not see my wretchedness.” (NIV)

Moses was extremely tired.  Nothing God did pleased the Hebrews in the wilderness.  After the start of every miracle they wanted more and longed to be back in the bondage which they were accustomed.  Moses was looked to for every complaint and to settle every disagreement.  Then God told Moses to go get some help.  He didn’t need to face so many problems by himself.  Read all of Numbers 11 to get the entire story.  What this tells us today is, when things get a little tight for us, when we start to feel overwhelmed, we are not to assume other people can read our mind and offer help unasked.  We need to speak up.  When we are under pressure, ask for help.  Moses was advised to choose his help carefully and so must we.  We don’t “blab” our problems to anyone who will listen.  We ask God who we should go to and ask for some help.  I have a friend who complains things are hard and no one will help, visit or call.  The friend needs to ask rather than complain about it.  If Moses needed help and God agreed, we are not inadequate for needing help ourselves.  Next time we start to feel a little too much pressure, ask God and them ask the one He leads us to for help.  As the roots of the Aspen trees (yesterday’s devotion) are connected, we are connected to one another.  Whether the helpee or the helper, it’s all the same.  It God working through us.
