Speed Limits

Matthew 6:33 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)

I like speed limits.  They are set for safety.  When driving down an unfamiliar road, I don’t know the conditions on ahead.  I don’t know what kind of traffic or what other hazards might lie ahead.  We also need speed limits on our life.  We do have them.  God gives us our speed limit for life in just one sentence.  Seek Him first.  If we would stop before anything and everything we do and ask Him we would be so much more peaceful, less hurried and have fewer mistakes.  We need to ask if we are to do it and if so, when we are to do it.  There are many things we know to do and don’t have to ask God.  We don’t need to ask Him if we should brush our teeth or take care of our health or tithe and on and on.  But we do need to submit our schedule to Him.   We spend so much time on overload because we do not seek Him first.  God will not give us more to do than we can handle.  When we are on overload that is a real sign we have broken His speed limit for us.  Let’s pray about our schedule, our activities, our commitments and see what we need take out and what we need to take on for His glory.
