Confirming God’s Word

Matthew 19:4-5 4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ (NIV)

There is a way we can confirm what we hear is really from God.  It must agree with what is written in God’s written word, the Holy Bible.  We can’t just use one verse to make it agree.  It must agree with the full council of the Bible.  It is easy for us to allow Satan or our own flesh bend one verse and make it say what we want it to say.  Proverbs is full of verses that tell us to be open to council.  We are not to depend on our own understanding for our own understanding can be flawed by the desires of our flesh.  Do not be afraid of hearing God through the Spirit, through the Bible or through other people but before acting on it, always ask for confirmation.  Let us always have the attitude of here I am or speak, Lord for I am listening.  Philippians 4:7 basically says if there is not peace, it’s not from God for God gives peace of mind.  Remember, God will never tell you anything that is in conflict with His written word, the Holy Bible.
