Digesting the Word

Filed under: Bible,Christ,Christian,devotion,faith,God,God's Word,Holy Spirit,Jesus,prayer — by ginrich @ 7:25 pm

Genesis 1:1-4 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (NIV)

I’ve been led to give an example of how to eat and digest God’s written word.  Read these first 3 verses of Genesis, the beginning of God’s written word.  Read it slowly before you read what it says to me.

At the very beginning of creation God already was.  God wasn’t alone.  God, the Father of all that was, is or will ever be also has the Spirit. But there was another with God from the beginning.  The Word.  Later in the written Word we read the Word is Jesus, the only begotten Son of God.  There were always and is always 3 in the person of God.  We call Him One God for the 3 are interdependent on each other.  God the Father is the decision maker.  He speaks through the Word, Jesus, His Son.  Life is through His Holy Spirit.  As I read over what I’ve received from these 3 verses I read it several times.  I also praise God for Who He is and thank each part of His God head for what they each do.

Psalms 119:11 1 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
