Gathering Together

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (NIV)

Tomorrow is Sunday.  This is the day we have chosen to gather together in honor of our Lord Jesus’ resurrection.  We are told in the written word to gather together.  There are many reason.  The first, of course, is to worship our Lord together with one voice.  But we are also to encourage one another in our individual walks.  My question is what do we do when we are in our respective church buildings?  Do we just go in and out so we can be the first in line at a restaurant?  We are to talk to one another.  Ask each other how our walk is going.  Pray for one another.  Asking how someone’s walk with God is going is not invading privacy.  It is a way of showing love and encouraging, especially during trying times.  Let us gather early before our services and stay a little later to pause, talk and pray for one another.
