Face of Jesus

John 1:18 18 No one has ever seen God.  The One and Only Son —the One who is at the Father’s side — He has revealed Him. (NIV)
Recently I saw 2 movies on ITBN about a face to face encounter with Jesus.  One was in a restaurant and one on a plane.  Later, a Christian novel I started reading was about a face to face encounter with Jesus while driving on the road.  I got to thinking, that would be beyond wonderful to have a real face to face encounter with Jesus and be able to ask Him all my questions.  Then I remembered I have a face to face encounter with Him every time I open and read the written Word of God, the Holy Bible because Jesus is the Word.  He was made flesh to come down in a physical form to this earth to show us the Father.  Now we see the Father and Jesus in the recorded Word of God.  I also see Him face to face as I look and live in the creation He made.  We can also see Jesus face to face in other believers and followers of Him.  We see Him in their smiles, their eyes and their actions and words.  But, as wonderful as that is for us, we must ask ourselves if others see Jesus face to face when they look at or listen to us.  In the Christian novel I read, seeing Jesus face to face on the road was the second time this happened to this man.  The first time was 4 years earlier.  The encounter faded.  Just as Jesus said when He was physically walking this earth, miracles witness won’t change the heart.  For keeping the face of Jesus before our eyes, minds and heart we must continually talk with and listen to Him.  We do this through our reading and meditation of the Bible, through our conversations with Him throughout the day and through our fellowshipping and sharing with fellow believers and followers.  Let us continually look into the face of Jesus in every way available to us.
