New Creation

2 Corinthians 5:17 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (NIV)

We must ask if we really believe this about ourselves.  When we accept Jesus into our heart, mind and life, we become a new creation.  We are now back into the image of God because Jesus, through His Holy Spirit, is now living in us.  But so often we look at ourselves in the same way we were before Jesus entered us.  We see ourselves as unrighteous sinners.  We do this because we haven’t renewed our minds.  The only way to renew our minds is to become so very familiar with God’s character that we know Him intimately .  We do this by immersing our minds in the written words of God.  Yes, once again I write about the importance of the Holy Bible.  Without immersing our minds in those words, we can’t renew our minds.  Without renewed minds, we will continue to act out in our old ways.  We will continue to side with Satan on how terrible we are.  We will continue to think we have no authority against living in sin.  Whenever we find our minds thinking wrong thoughts we need to immediately get into the word of God and bathe our minds in His character.   God says our hands are Jesus’ hands and our feet are Jesus’ feet. Let us keep our minds renewed and make it so in our physical reality as well as the spiritual reality.
