Matthew 13:58 58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. (NIV)

Another way of writing this verse is “And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.”  I just finished reading a Christian fiction novel where several times it said, “Miracles happen to those who believe.”  This is so very true.  Miracles surround us every day but, if we don’t believe, we don’t look for them and we miss them.  Consider the creation around us.  It is all a miracle.  Consider how our bodies function.  That is a miracle.  Looking at these miracles and recognizing them for what they are and giving thanks to God for them enables us to receive and see even more miracles.  When we live expecting them we will receive them.  But, with every promise of God there is a condition.  We must be walking in obedience to His word.  Not only walking in obedience but really releasing ourselves and our desires to be one in Him.  The miracles we want to see and receive must be in agreement with God.  We don’t get ourselves into debt through accumulation of material things then expect God to perform a miracle and make the debt disappear.  We bear the consequences of our actions even though we have the forgiveness and love of God.  Walking in obedience produces a joyful and abundant life in close fellowship with our God.  Let us walk in loving obedience and keep our hearts and eyes open for the miracles God gives us each and every day.
