Replace Discouragement

Psalms 43:4-5 4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight.  I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. 5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?  Why so disturbed within me?  Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God (NIV)

We all have times of discouragement, times when we are depressed and gloomy.  That is the time to go into our prayer room and sing or speak praises to God.  When we confess out loud with our mouths the glories of God we also hear them with our ears.  They penetrate deep into our inner being and change the focus of our mind.  Before long we are lifted up into His glory and our spirits are once again united with His.  Our outlook has changed and we are once again filled with unspeakable joy in our oneness with Jesus Christ our Savior and God the Father through the enabling of the Holy Spirit.  Our entire countenance changes along with the expression on our faces.  Our problem is sometimes we choose to be discouraged.  It may be we want others to feel sorry for us or we feel sorry for ourselves.  It’s all a matter of choice.  We can choose to remain in the dark pit of discouragement and gloom or we can choose to praise God until the gloom and discouragement have been replaced with His unspeakable joy
