Worship of Thanksgiving

Luke 17:18 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” (NIV)

Worship is giving thanks to God.  Today we tend to take things for granted.  There is a lot of teaching today that we should always have anything we want as long as we ask God and believe for it.  This attitude is why we live with disappointment.  10 lepers were healed.  Apparently 9 of them were Jews and 1 a gentile.  It was the gentile who returned to give thanks to Jesus.  There are 7 different Greek words for thanks.  All of them denote thanking in open love.  Our question is do we only worship God with thanksgiving when we get our way or do we live in a state of thankfulness of worship to God in all circumstances.  We might say the only reason that 1 man came back to thank Jesus was because he was healed.  We have all been healed.  We’ve been healed from sin which is a death sentence.  We are healed to eternal life.  What more do we need to constantly be joyfully giving thanks in worship to the God Who sent Jesus and healed us from that death sentence from sin?
