Deuteronomy 31:6 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (NIV)

Philippians 4:6-7 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (NIV)

I tried to count the times God told us in His written word not to fear, not to be anxious, not to worry, not to be discouraged and many other not to.s that have to do with fear.  I lost count.  Instead He told us to be strong and courageous in our trust that He is true to His word.  He has promised always to be with us regardless of the circumstances we must face in this sinful world.  This doesn’t mean we won’t ever face dire circumstances.  It does mean we need not fear the circumstances before they occur.  We need only obey His word, worship Him and trust Him.  When we do find ourselves in dire circumstances we can trust He will provide us with all we need to face them.  It does no good to be anxious or afraid of what might be for then we don’t live in the peace of the present.  God told us tomorrow will take care of itself.  We are to live in today in faith, thankfulness and worship as we walk in fellowship with God, the Creator of all that was, is or will ever be.  Yes, there are some very evil things in our world that might affect us some day but we can release those thoughts and allow God to keep His peace in our minds and our hearts.  God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
