Draw Near 2

Hebrews 10:22 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

We cannot draw near to God if our heart (our motive) isn’t sincere (honest).  We’ve all know people who act like they love you but really are only trying to get something they want from you.  We can’t draw near to God thinking that will make us look good to certain other people or that will get us to heaven when we die.  We can only draw near to God out of pure love for Him.  We not only appreciate what He has done for us, we truly love Him.  We love reading the words He gave us to read.  We love talking and listening to Him.  We love praising and worshiping Him.  We love these things, not because He will take us to heaven but because we are in the process of becoming one in Him and don’t feel complete without Him in us.  Let us be determined to stay complete.
