Genesis 7:12-13 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights. (NIV)

It’s only the 3rd day of rain from Harvey with a minimum of 3 more expected.  I’ve been wondering how Noah and his family endured 40 days of the sound of rain yet even looking at water for another 130+.  As I contemplated and read Noah’s account I saw God had provided him with a lot of animals to care for.  But, that wouldn’t be enough to keep sanity through so very much.  As I read more about Noah, I saw it was his complete trust and obedience of God which enable him to stay at peace with the assurance all would be well for God was in control.  Our attitude as we face trials is a choice.  We can choose to fear, complain, be depressed or choose to remember Who is in control.  When we choose to look to God, trusting Him and obeying Him while giving Him praise and thanks, there is no room in our spirits for doom and gloom.  Keeping the right attitude by choice brings the emotions into order.  Cabin fever (in my case) quickly vanishes and the time of trial comes into line with the time of eternity.  No matter what situation we find around us, we can take joy in the knowledge that God never leaves or forsakes us and will bring us to live with Him for all eternity.
