Ephesians 1:18-21 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come (NIV)

When we come to know Jesus personally we learn we share in His glorious inheritance.  We like to stop there.  We all like to have a glorious inheritance.  But, along with sharing in His inheritance, we also share in His mighty and great power.  We really don’t like to think to much on that.  To share in His power means we have a responsibility to use that great power we share with Him.  This takes faith.  We fear speaking boldly for fear what we speak won’t occur.  We had a baptism in the ocean for 4 college boys.  It was storm surge so they got baptized many times before the actual event.  Those of us on shore were individually and quietly praying for the water to be still.  Nothing happened.  On the way back to our house, the 4 college girls in our van decided they wanted to be baptized also.  We discussed our prayer and the lack of a positive outcome.  We were asked why we didn’t speak out loud.  The honest answer was none of us really believed the water would be still.  When we got back to the beach It was still storm surge.  We united together and spoke to the waves to be calm.  There was a half circle of calm water surrounding the girls.  They were baptized and as they came into the beach the weaves followed behind them.  To share in the power of Jesus, we must truly believe and be bold.  The result is up to God.  The faith is up to us.  Let us learn to be bold and share in all Jesus has for those who know Him.
