Black Friday

Matthew 3:3 3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”(NIV)

Today is Thanksgiving.  Tomorrow is known as “Black Friday.”  It might be called black because this is the day the retailers hope their bottom line will be in the black.  In 3 days, Sunday, it will be the first day of the Christian Advent season.  The word “advent” means the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event: Synonyms are:: arrival · appearance · emergence · materialization · occurrence · dawn · birth · rise · development · approach · coming.  During this Advent season I will be citing prophecies from the Old Testament and the fulfillment in the New Testament.  Since there are more than 300 prophecies and not so many days in this season I will begin tomorrow.  We need to each be encouraged to concentrate more on the reason for our celebration rather than the push on materialism.  We need to share the love and joy and hopefully prepare the hearts of others to fully receive the most blessed gift ever – the gift of the Word of God coming in flesh so we could see His great love for us.  Let us share with all we meet.
