Hosea 11:1 1 “When Israel was a child, I loved him,  9NIV0and out of Egypt I called my son.  (NIV)

Matthew 2:14-15 14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”  (NIV)

A few hundred years before the Father sent His Word, His Son, Jesus to be born in Bethlehem, He said He would call His Son out of Egypt.  Amazing to us but not for God.  Egypt is known as a country of desert wilderness.  We still tend to wander in Egypt, a desert wilderness, in our own walk.  God is calling us out of our “Egypt” into His promised land.  To do this we must have His Son, Jesus in our hearts, minds and lives as not only our Savior, but also as our Shepherd, the One Who leads us in all we say and do.  When we choose to walk with Him, our lives are directed under His wisdom and any “Egypt” that come our way are walked through with Him into the promised land, a land where we are united with God.  When we find ourselves in Egypt, let’s check and see where we have stepped away from following our Shepherd.
