Potter’s Field

Zechariah 11:13 13 “Throw it to the potter,” the Lord said to me — this magnificent price I was valued by them. So I took the 30 pieces of silver and threw it into the house of the Lord, to the potter. (NIV)

Matthew 27:6-7 6 The chief priests took the silver and said, “It’s not lawful to put it into the temple treasury, since it is blood money.” 7 So they conferred together and bought the potter’s field with it as a burial place for foreigners. (NIV)

Not only was it prophesied that Judas would be paid 30 pieces of silver then throw it back at the feet of the priest, it also prophesied they would purchase the potter’s field, a place for burial for those who can’t afford a proper grave site.  God entrust to us various talents.  He enables us to make income.  So often we toss out our talents and waste our income.  We consider it ours.  We forget we are stewards of all God has entrusted to our care.  We must consider what we do with our income and how we use our talents.  Let us be good stewards and follow the wisdom of God in the use of both our talents and the income He enables us to have.
