False Witness

Psalms 35:11 11 Malicious witnesses come forward; they question me about things I do not know. (NIV)

Mark 14:57-59 57 Some stood up and were giving false testimony against Him, stating, 58 “We heard Him say, ‘I will demolish this sanctuary made by human hands, and in three days I will build another not made by hands.’” 59 Yet their testimony did not agree even on this. (NIV)

The priests tried hard to find witness to condemn Jesus.  The lies were evident.  Before we condemn them, we must consider how many times our word or actions were as false testimonies to the love and goodness of God.  When others hear us or see our actions, what do they see?  More important, who do they see?  Our lives are to be a witness of the love, mercy and goodness of God.  Walking in unforgiveness, anger, depression, lust or any other negative way is giving a false testimony of God and His nature.  Let us not be false witnesses.
