Psalms 46:10 10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (NIV)

There are many different emotions the day after Christmas.  After all the excitement and celebrations there is sometimes a let-down.  Maybe our expectations weren’t met.  We might not have gotten the gift we wanted.  We might have gotten the gift we wanted but it didn’t make us feel like we thought it would.  We might feel compelled to go shopping to get more things.   Our eyes and mind are on what we didn’t get or feel.  Today is a time to reflect on what Christmas really means.  The parties and celebrations are over.  It’s time to be still and really know God.  Yes, God is in the celebrations and the gift giving.  But those things are a distraction from really knowing, seeing and feeling God in an intimate way.  Today, let us be still in the presence of God.  Let us reflect on the greatest gift.  Let us enjoy bathing in His presence and open up to His Holy Spirit filling us up to overflowing.  God wants to have an intimate relationship with us.  To really be intimate we need time alone, just God and our self.  It is hard to quiet our minds.  Start with reading some scripture.  The pray and ask God to quiet our mind and help us just see, feel, know and hear Him.  He sent His Son here so we can truly know Him.  Let us be still and know that HE is God.  Let us breath Him into our entire being so tomorrow we can exalt Him in all the world.
