Lamentations 3:22-23 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (NIV)

Tonight is the night many will make a New Year resolution.  The resolution might last a few days or even a few months but will eventually be forgotten.  We need to live each day for each day is a new gift from God.  At night we reflect on the day, ask the Holy Spirit to point out our sins and hurts and what we might have done or said to hurt someone else.  Confess those as sin and ask for forgiveness.  Accept God’s forgiveness and forgive ourselves and others.  Then remember to leave them at the cross of Jesus and start anew in the morning for the day is new.  Let us rejoice for the year we have finished and look forward to each new day God brings our way.
