Grieving God

Ephesians 1:4 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love (NIV)

Sometimes I don’t see how God handles it.  He must surely grieve at the choices we make; the way we treat ourselves and others.  Everything we do and say is a choice.  We can choose to act in love with others and with our own bodies or we can choose to hurt.  We don’t take proper care of our bodies (the bodies which house God’s Holy Spirit) and we often mistreat other people.  Surely it must grieve God.  He loves us all so very much.  So much love for us that He parted with His Son to watch Him suffer in our place.  Yet, even though we know He paid such a price for us, we continue to mistreat ourselves and others.  Let us be more careful in our choices.  Let us choose to let the love of God fill us to overflowing that we will take proper care of our bodies, our words and thoughts and our actions both about ourselves and about and to others.  Let us put a smile on the face of God rather than sadness.
