Blessings Multiplied

Luke 9:16 16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. (NIV)

Read the entire section first.  Notice Jesus blessed, then broke the bread and fish and handed some to each disciple.  The miracle of enough for the multitude didn’t take place until the disciples went to give what Jesus put in their hands to the multitude.  When we give, if we are giving just for the sake of giving without asking God to bless it, it is not multiplied.  When we give, asking God to bless what we give, it is multiplied beyond our knowledge.  When we tithe to the church, our tithes is blessed and goes out to bless people we don’t even know.  Giving is not for us to get a personal blessing though often we do.  Giving is to bless others.  Let us pray over what we give that God will bless it and use it for His glory.  The disciples handed out as the bread and fish multiplied.  After they were obedient to distribute it in faith, they were also blessed with a basket full for each disciple.  The blessings of God never cease.
