Criticism

Ephesians 4:29 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. (NIV)

There is a big difference between correcting someone and criticizing them.  Correcting, done in love, is gentle and positive.  Criticizing is usually done in an attitude of being better than the one we’re criticizing.  We must remember God loves everyone.  We must also remember God hears everything we say and even everything we think.  Instead of criticizing others either to their face or to other people, take our problem of understanding them to God.  Lift them up to God for His direction, healing and help.  Offer ourselves to be available to Him to be used by Him in any way He chooses.  He may just want us to love that person and allow Him to do His own work within the person.  Let’s put criticism aside and turn it to prayer.  Prayer holds the power of change for the glory of God.
