Awesome Reverence

Isaiah 6:5 5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” (NIV)

Isiah had an encounter with God.  In God’s actual presence Isaiah realized who he was in respect to Who God is.  We are so used to the privilege of calling God our Father because of His Son, Jesus, that we really don’t comprehend Who He really is.  It continually amazes me that He allows me to address Him as Father.  Actually, I usually say Father, God.  We tend, as humans, to get used to and comfortable with things we do repeatedly.  Talking with God throughout our day sometimes grows into a casual familiarity.  Let’s take time to think about being in Isiah’s place and actually having a seeing, physical encounter with Father, God.  Isaiah was able to speak.  I think I would become speechless and hide my face in shame.  I am a sinner saved by the grace and mercy of Father God through the suffering of His Son, Jesus.  This is amazing that God, the Creator of all that was, is and will be would do such a thing for me.  I pray I never loose my amazement and awe of Father, God.  Let us always approach Father, God with awesome reverence and may that awesome reverence keep a joy and boldness in us as we relate to others on this earth.
