2 Chronicles 7:14 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV)

I was driving down the interstate when a car went speeding around me and in and out of the traffic.  Shortly behind that car were about a dozen police cars, lights flashing, chasing that speeding car.  I watched in front of me on down the interstate and saw the suspect leading them off and back on the interstate for several exits.  The exit before I was to exit I saw them on the frontage road.  Police cars surrounding the suspect car with the police standing in the road with guns drawn and aimed at the suspect.  I prayed, “God, let it end peacefully with not one shot fired.”  I drove to my exit, let my passenger off then returned to go back home.  As I passed the exit of the confrontation I saw the suspect’s car still surrounded with flashing lights but no police standing with guns drawn.  To confirm no shots had been fired I listened to the news that night.  No news about it.  Car chases are very common and not newsworthy unless gunfire is exchanged.  God answered my prayer.  I don’t know if others prayed.  I do know God allowed me to see the need so I would pray.  Prayers continue for that suspect to turn his or her life over to God.  We never know if we might be the only prayer link for someone.  God has tied His hands on this earth for a while.  He has chosen to work through our hands, our feet and our mouths.  We do this by uniting with His power and wisdom through prayer and then speaking it into existence with our mouths.  Let us humbly pray when we see things amiss so the power of God may be loosened on this earth.
