Luke 15:29 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.  T

Read the entire parable of the prodigal son. The prodigal recognized his mistake and came in spirit of repentance.  The son who stayed home didn’t want his brother to be forgiven.  Notice in Luke 15:12 The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.  The father didn’t just give the prodigal his share, he divided the shares between both sons at the time.  The brother of the prodigal was the oldest when meant he got double portion.  The problem arises in the fact that the brother did nothing with his double portion.  He continued doing as he has always done.  His double portion was there for him all the time.  God has given us so very much yet we continue going as we always have.  So often we don’t notice what God has given us, when we do, we don’t ask Him how we are to use what He gives us.  Let us learn not to pay attention to what God gives us, learn how to use His gifts and start using them.
